Surprise! (The Good Kind)

I’ve become a bit wary of surprises during this season, particularly the ones that come at the doctor’s office. But today brought a good kind of surprise!
I went to my radiation appointment this afternoon and met with the doc, as I’ve done every day for the last 6 weeks. During that appointment she surprised us by saying…I’m done! 2 treatments early!

She said she tells everyone at the beginning they will get 28 treatments, but the truth is there is a range of 25 to 28 treatments that is really the “requirement”. Depending on how your skin is doing determines exactly how many you finish with. Well, my skin’s been looking pretty angry the last few days, so she decided we are donzo at 26 treatments.

So, that’s it! Treatment is complete! EL. FINITO.
Matt and I went out for an impromptu dinner celebration at one of our favorite Dallas restaurants, Medina’s. It’s where we had our first date, where he proposed, and now where we celebrated this milestone. Then we had a ‘90s singalong in the way home because that’s just the way we roll.

So here’s a picture of me saying “peace out” to the radiation office. (Not pictured- me ninja-sliding up the wall from the left as to not set off the motion detector so we could actually get the “Texas Oncology” sign included before it slide open behind the frosted glass)
