So, Here’s The Thing…

The blog has been a little quiet lately and you might be wondering, “What’s the news?? What’s going on?? What’s the latest??” So, here’s the thing. We’ve found ourselves wanting to keep some of these next steps of IVF to ourselves for a little while. And probably because of all the reasons you can think of but also maybe some that you might not.

First of all, there’s just the logistics…if and when we get pregnant, you’re really supposed to wait a little bit to share the news because a lot of things can still happen in those first few weeks. But if we share all the updates of how IVF is going, then everyone would know the timeline of when things are happening and it would be hard to wait until it’s safer to share. So to protect our own hearts and some of yours as well, it makes sense not to share the exact dates and progress updates.

But secondly, the only reason we are doing things this way is because of cancer. And if I’m being really honest, I don’t want to miss out on any of the fun things that a season of pregnancy brings just because cancer is making us do things in a different way. There’s a moment of shock and surprise and joy that new parents get to enjoy when they announce that they are pregnant, and I don’t want to miss out on that just because cancer sucks. If we were to share all the steps along the way as we walk through them, I fear it would become a bit anti-climactic and cancer would steal something special yet again.

So, for all those reasons, we’re playing cards close to the chest for a bit. It feels strange, because we’ve been so public with the journey so far, and so many people have played a part in praying and supporting the road we’ve been on. But know that we are still taking steps to move forward and if there’s something exciting to know, we’ll be sure you don’t miss the memo! The GoFundMe is also still active, we are about halfway to our goal and could still use your help and sharing and spreading the word there. And above all, as always, it’s only because of the prayers of our friends and family that this journey is even possible in the first place. We are so thankful for your prayers and you can continue to pray for health for everyone involved and provision for the journey whether financial, emotional, or otherwise.
