Quick story from our stay in the hospital.
My wife, Crys Gorman, shows me more and more each day what true strength looks like. Yes, she is a beast in the gym and on the Spartan Warrior course, but I am talking about a strength that radiates from her spirit.
If you saw her FB live video from yesterday before we left the hospital, then you saw someone who had major surgery 48 hours earlier that still had a spirit which was not crushed but radiating a light from within. That light was with her before and during the surgery, and will be bursting forth throughout the journey ahead. Why? Because that light is the light of Christ that is ALIVE within her. To be weak in body yet alive in spirit is a life/light that can not be extinguished. It is a light that touches and reaches each and every person around her no matter what the situation.
I told you I had a story, so here it is. While moving onto the operating table there was a sweet, sweet, nurse who was helping Crys. She was truly making the process less stressful just by her tone, tenor, and attention to Crys’ comfort. Crys, while strapped in for surgery asks Norma, the nurse, “Norma, do you know Jesus?” Wait just one moment. My wife, while under the early stages of anesthesia, with an epidural in her back, and about to undergo major surgery, took the time to ask Norma if she had a relationship with Jesus. No one would have thought any different if Crys had said nothing. No one would bat an eye if she had made that moment about herself. But in that moment my wife found it more important to ask Norma if she knew Jesus. Talk about selflessness. Talk about a desire to see people know Jesus no matter the surroundings or what you are personally going through.
Norma bent over with her mask on and acted as if she was giving Crys a kiss on the cheek. And that’s where the story ends because that’s Crys’ last memory before she went night-night. But that isn’t for her to know. She simply did her part, to the best of her abilities, and trusts that God will use that moment to bring glory to His name, and hopefully bless Norma’s life in some way. I know it has blessed mine. As well as shifted how I see other’s no matter the situation I am in the midst of.
To wrap this all up, my wife’s joy and spirit through one of the toughest moments of her life, will be a light to others in order to bring our great God all the praise and glory.
What you witnessed in the FB live video of her walking through the hospital halls was the light of Christ that resonates from her relationship with Jesus. And this relationship is not something that is only available to Crys, it’s available to everyone. No matter the space or place you may be in today, Jesus asks the same questions Crys did on that operating table – “Do you know Me?” He asks because He loves YOU and wants to have a relationship with you that will give you unspeakable joy and a full life that only He can provide. Don’t miss it! Take it! You won’t be disappointed! You may even find yourself with a spirit of joy that allows you to laugh and tell jokes in the middle of life’s storms. If you want to know more about having a relationship with Jesus feel free to PM me. I’d be happy to share how Jesus has changed mine and Crys’ life.
Thanks for taking a “moment” to read this if you made it this far. The Gorman’s love and appreciate you!
