So far everything has been going very well. I ended up with an infection in my throat, something to do with the breathing tube during surgery, but frankly that’s really my biggest complaint. Quick story from our stay in the hospital. My wife, Crys Gorman, shows me more and more each day what true strength looks like. Yes, she is a beast in the gym and on the Spartan Warrior course, but I am talking about a strength that radiates from her spirit. If you saw her FB live video from yesterday before we left the hospital, then you saw someone who had major surgery 48 hours earlier that still had a spirit which was not crushed but radiating a light from within. Today the goal is ultimately to be in a place that Crys can make her way home. How is that looking? Chances are good that this will happen. Today has been marked with very positive progress and steps, literally. Crys has been up twice prior to this post and made a full lap around this floor of the hospital. Her top speed isn’t Spartan race worthy, but compared to yesterday she has earned the nickname Lightning McQueen. Now if I could just get her to say “KA-CHOW!” every time we pass a nurse.
