Staying Positive, Staying Consistent

Hi friends! It’s been a few weeks since my last post, which seems to be the trend lately. Frankly I just haven’t had any wise, witty, or worthy words to share with you! The last few weeks have really just been filled with putting our nose to the grindstone and getting through this chemo season, and trying to enjoy some of the more “normal” moments in between treatments.
A wise man once preached about how you should not become weary when you don’t get any “new wisdom” from God, because that just means you should keep on doing the last thing He told you to do. So that’s where we are – we’ve been focusing on staying positive, staying consistent in what we know to be true, and continuing to put one foot in front of the other!

And we try to find moments for celebration – last weekend we drove to Oklahoma to see a comedy show, which was something I’ve been really looking forward to during this time, and it was a great escape! We laughed a ton and even got to meet one of the guys afterwards. It was a great time!

And while overall things are still going very well, I won’t hesitate to share that we’re getting pretty tired. In all the ways…physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. I’m sure that’s why I’ve had but few words to share here. I’ve got a fourth treatment coming up this Friday, and this is the last of the “two drug regimen”, which we are celebrating big time! The previous third round was more difficult than the first two – side effects were a bit stronger and hung on a bit longer. So I am ready to say “thanks for your help, now peace out” to these drugs!

As we prepare for this fourth round on Friday, I’d love your prayer for the following;

1) Minimal side effects! I can definitely use some strong prayers here, I’d prefer to repeat the experiences with round 1 and 2 instead of round 3!

2) Mental/emotional perseverance – the finish line is so far away. That’s why it’s so important to stay positive and celebrate every small step!

3) Complete healing – above all else.

4) Open eyes and ears not to miss the opportunities God puts in front of us during this season.

Thanks as always for your continued prayer and encouragement. Hearing your life-giving words and “keep-kicking-butt” positivity always helps to keep us going!
