Well as I’m sure you already know if you’ve been keeping up with Matt’s updates over the past week, surgery went great and we’re now out of the hospital and recovering at home! So far everything has been going very well. I ended up with an infection in my throat, something to do with the breathing tube during surgery, but frankly that’s really my biggest complaint. Everything else is healing very well – I’m up and around, having minimal pain and no nausea from the drugs, and truthfully just looking forward to eating solid food again once this throat thing goes away! We won’t know about any next steps until the pathology report comes back, which could perhaps be sometime this week. As you know, we are continuing to believe for clear lymph nodes. I want to specifically thank everyone so much for the onslaught of pictures, texts, and social media posts of all the Team Crys tshirts! You have no idea how incredible that was in the hospital. My heart was just bursting. It was so encouraging, in fact, at one point I thought to myself “of course, I’m hoping for no radiation or chemo. But, if I have to…I can do it.” That is how much you encouraged me! I felt all of your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes the whole time. So while the words ‘thank you’ aren’t nearly enough, THANK YOU! Prayer points while we wait for the next steps: 1) Healing for my throat so I can eat solid foods 2) The pathology report to come back with clear lymph nodes and no need for radiation or chemo 3) Complete healing so we never see this challenge again! 4) Great rest in the meantime. Not just for me, but also for Matt. I’m basically useless from the waist up so he does everything for me and while he’s been absolutely incredible in every way, I know he could use just as much rest and refreshment as me! Thank you again. Looking forward to more great reports!
