Baby steps through first part of the day as she was able to make it to the bathroom. She was still dealing with dizzy spells, but was definitely improving.
Late this afternoon around 2:30pm we started making strides. She ate a really healthy portion of her lunch and made it to the bathroom again (this is actually a big deal). We then got her out of the room and she walked a good 200 feet or so. Because she is a Spartan! All the movement is helping her body start functioning normal again.
The best news is that I am at the hospital hotel room about to get sleep because, drumroll please, she is sleeping! 😴 This is great news! A big part of her disorientation is believed to be caused by lack of sleep. So glad they set her up with a medicine cocktail to help make this possible.
Big step tomorrow first thing will be the removal of the thoracic nerve block a.k.a epidural. We have to be very strategic about when to add the oral medication so there is a minimal shift away from the nerve block and to the other.
Now it’s time for me to catch some z’s so I can be alert and ready to care and provide for Crys as we start the descent toward home.
Thanks again for all the prayers and support. This is the first time either of us have had to lean so heavily on others. It is one of the most uplifting and life-giving experiences in the midst of a crazy storm. Not only have our parents been amazing, but our church family has been THE CHURCH!
Crys and I love you all!
